Stuff to do: week of June 9 “No Kings” edition
Rallies, protests, marches
No Kings!
The big event is going to be No Kings Day. Houston, Kingswood, and other areas have organized and holding their rallies on this coming Saturday, June 14.
Across the U.S., just about every city is turning out to protest the authoritarian power grab by the Trump regime. While the Occupier is staging a military procession, ostensibly celebrating the 249th anniversary of the United States Army, the real celebration in his eyes is for his birthday.
The degree of ego and self-aggrandizement this takes is astonishing. It is a matter of record that he holds those who serve in the armed forces in low esteem, thus, the hubris is doubly frustrating. Additionally, the sheer tonnage of vehicular weight is projected much of the street infrastructure in the nation’s capitol. He would anoint himself king, but really is a petty wannabe gangster.
Consequently, the rest of the country will be mounting protests in defiance of this attempt to strip the country of the laws and guardrails established in the constitution and the heart of the Declaration of Independence, two documents that he is quite likely to have never read, let alone, understood.
This Saturday’s rallies, protests, and marches are important and if you and yours are even a little troubled by the direction the regime is taking, this is your chance to add your voice. Numbers matter; the larger the turnout, the greater the impact.
Having said that, in light of what has transpired in Los Angeles, beware that there might be provocation from law enforcement agencies ranging fro municipal police to ICE to The National Guard.
Take precautions, be safe, and know your rights.

The tie and place is below, but I recommend registering nonetheless.
Know your rights!
While most protests have been peaceful, we are aware that things can go south quickly. The ACLU is offering an online training tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10 at 7pm EDT. To register, go to: https://act.aclu.org/a/2025-kyr-training-2.
Indivisible has an extremely comprehensive toolkit for Safety, Security, and Digital Preparedness for a Second Trump Administration here: https://indivisible.org/resource/safety-security-and-digital-preparedness-second-trump-administration.
When you’re at your event, be alert, but don’t forget why you’re there. You’ll meet likeminded citizens and may well find a place in the resistance!
Listen to the organizers, parade marshals, and volunteers and have an amazing time! We’re raising our voices to protest the assault on our rights, our history, and the well-being of our fellow citizens. We are fighting to preserve the freedoms enshrined in the founding documents and the ideals of the Founders themselves.
We fought a mad king two and a half centuries ago. We’re fighting a man would be king. We will persevere.
