I could have also called this The Kitchen Sink Edition because I'm also throwing in elements from Facebook on Bluesky and even some Stuff2Do.
No Kings happens tomorrow with over 3,000 actions planned across the U.S. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be the largest turn-out and more people get involved afterward in their local communities and at different levels of engagement. Consequently, this is less about celebrating the specific day (though it is that), and more about seeding ideas for perspective, engagement (be it talking points or signing up to register voters or organize protests or writing letters to representatives, and so on), and spreading some ideas the results of which we may not know, but that might galvanize a change for the better in the electorate.
Last outing, I attempted to organize a kind of structure for the entry and it sort of worked. This time, I'll see what happens because I did not have the files set up in any particular order or with any sense of themes.
However, I do want to lead off with ideas for what we all can do and a sense of hope before going down the darker route of the looming dystopia outside our doors.

A lot of folks on Bluesky have divested themselves from Facebook and all things Meta and for good reason. I'm not one of them, yet. Partly to validate my continued use of the platform, though, I like to share what I find on FB that Blueskyers might find interesting or valuable. To that end, I sometimes post a "Facebook for Bluesky" entry, but this time, I'll simply fold that into this "Memes in the Time of Trump 2.0"!

As a counter and corrective to the Occupier in the White House's repugnant "obituary" for Robert Mueller, I am happy to post these two:
Speaking of the Toddler Who Would Be King, there is, as usual, no lack of what his followers would call unwarranted attacks and most reasonable people would say, "hm, not so much hot takes as, pretty accurate." Let the pithy punditry commence!
I say this a lot (and will continue to), but Trump didn't get where he is by himself. He had enablers, including, but not limited to, Russia, MAGA, the Republican Party (apparently, some of those Never Trumpers might have been delusional, craven cowards, or liars), and of course, BIG MONEY, particularly this time around.
Russia seems to have receded a little from the news cycle since Trump decided to invade Iran illegally. This last piece is important and should never be excluded from any reporting about the war. Congress was not consulted. Congress is the only branch of government that can declare war. Congress, however, seems to have abdicated. And I stress that it is the Republican Party who has the majority but Mike Johnson somehow couldn't be bothered to convene an emergency session on the Executive Branch taking over Congress's role. Nor does it seem that the GOP is particularly bothered about their responsibility in this (as in other) matter being stripped from them.
MAGA doesn't seem to know what to do, either. Not that this is new and not that it is surprising (it's not), but with the country in the hands of fools and criminals like these, any power, any sway the United States had abroad is diminishing by the minute and any support, assistance, or social uplift that the government is supposed to provide is lacking. Of course, it's just swell to have ICE in airports now....
Oh, and the Epstein files? Funny how they've receded from the news cycle, too. But not here. We'll set some reminders later.
On to MAGA, the Republican Party, and the Oligarchs!

What's left except to remember that there's this Bogeyman that the Occupier seems awfully scared to invoke. It might have to do with the trafficking and raping of children and how it appears that said Occupier might have been more than a passive recipient of conjugal pleasure with underage girls. It remains most passing strange that Congress has dragged its feet on any investigation (again, Republicans more than Democrats, but the latter have a reputation for inertia and the assumption is that some may have profited from their association with Epstein), although it appears that rather than call the current occupant of the White House to account, the GOP investigators decided to subpoena a past President and First Lady. That's just so....odd, don't you think?
Okay. I'll quit being coy. Trump is an adjudicated rapist and very likely worse. If Jeffrey Epstein calls you the worst human being he's ever met, you may just be the worst human being. Maybe not ever, but certainly, these days, you're likely to be in the top 2 or 3, you creep.
