On Missing India and Nepal

Diwali, the Festival of Lights kicked off and this serves to remind me of how distracted I’ve become by our political scene here in the United States. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I’ve not been in touch with my extended family of friends elsewhere, but especially in my homes away from home.

Diwali is a magical time (and sometimes a little noisy) but you do feel the light that burns within us all and I recommend visiting South Asia, particularly India, to immerse yourself in the season. (Tell me if you’re going, and I’ll recommend someone to guide you through the culture and the landscape!)

To all my dear friends in Bharat and Nepal, I miss you all and will be in touch. I miss the Zooms, the FB messages (I mute them because I get messaged too much on other platforms and who am I kidding? What lame excuses are these?!)

Here are some photos from years gone by, no captions because I think they’re just fine as they are.

If anyone is interested, do a search on the blog on “India” or “Nepal” and on Lord Buddha Charitable School (I am going to start a fundraiser soon!)

Shanti aur prem,
J
