Okay, let’s be clear that Texas is Ground Zero for the sleaziest but what might be most effective power grab by the Trump Regime. They’re not even trying to be subtle about stealing the mid-terms (or any election, really).

Indivisible has risen to the challenge with rallies, letter writing campaigns, public statements, and more, not just for Texas and other red states on the Regime’s Wish List, but for how to support other states in counter-redistricting. 

We hear a lot from the MAGA people and the conservatives who support them about “state’s rights”, but when their führer wants something done, they conveniently fall in line, brown shirts and all.

The Texas House Democrats are denying quorum to stop the Trump takeover of Texas and block his attempt to rig the 2026 midterm elections. But Trump isn’t stopping in Texas. He’s targeting Missouri, Ohio, Florida, and every state he can twist to help him steal Congress next year. States like California and New York are starting to fight back.

Let’s be clear: this fight started in Texas, but it doesn’t end there. This isn’t just about redistricting or one state’s politics. It’s about the future of our democracy. Trump is terrified of the American people. He knows he can’t win on his ideas, so he’s trying to take Congress by hook or by crook--and he’s doing it by silencing the voices of communities of color. We’re not going to let that happen.

That’s why we’re organizing a National Day of Action, on Saturday, August 16, to fight back against the Trump takeover of our country.

Texas will lead with an anchor rally at the Capitol in Austin. Across the country, we’re asking people to show up at their state houses, city halls, or community spaces and make it clear -- we see what Trump is doing, and we won’t stand for it.

Signs are provided or bring your own. Now is a particularly appropriate time to rally in front of his office, since Cornyn has taken it upon himself to call in the FBI to find Texas Democrat Legislators who have left the state to deny a quorum on the House’s gerrymandering initiative.

No Kings Day is coming! Let’s turn out and let’s be safe!

I know many of us are stoked to show up, raise our voices, and fight the good fight against authoritarianism and this tin-pot wannabe dictator and his clown car cabal. However, with additional issues in some states (like this one), there may be increased military presence, more law enforcement on the ground (uniformed and plain clothed) and perhaps, individuals and groups who might try to disrupt peaceful assemblies. What's ahead for protesters in the coming months? Planning ahead for pushback from the State, part 1

Source: unknown   Ahead of larger protests and more people taking to the streets, it might be worthwhile to be aware of what the regime is attempting to do now to breach the right to peaceful assembly and silence voices. We aren’t at the point where the military is turned on crowds, but be aware that is a big part of the authoritarians playbook.  First, there will be draconian legislative measures. As you may assume, many such measures are before different legislatures in conservative states. Concurrently, the federal government is considering several ways to make protesting illegal. Let’s take a look. Cynics and the chronically apathetic contend that protests don’t do anything.
