Hands off Everything!
Stand outside the SSA office on Westheimer @Eldridge from noon to one each Friday holding signs about the issue of the week. Just pick one - there are so many! We'll go back to Social Security after 2026 when it becomes a hot button again. Now we need to concentrate on more timely issues and this is a great location for that. Hope to see you there!
The notification is for Friday, September 5, but these are weekly, every Friday from noon to one.

Epstein Epstein Epstein
The more people keep this in front, the harder it’s going to deny the ramifications and utter horror of what Epstein and Maxwell accomplished. Yeah, Trump might have been his BFF but we know there are plenty of other powerful men who were party to the sexual abuse of minors or to be even more blunt, systematic rape of children.
And the men who did this? Legislators, CEOs, and just plain wealthy beyond your imagination men. You think the systematic trafficking of children doesn’t have anything to do with the police that affect your life, aside from being revolting and heinous on their own?
Think again. They’re all subject to blackmail and likely all want the same thing: bigger profit margins and younger girls.
What to do? Call, sign, write, and supportive the women who have come forward.

Stop the whitewashing of history
The Trump administration is threatening the funding of the Smithsonian and pressuring it to revise exhibits that confront the realities of slavery and systemic oppression. This is part of a broader campaign to whitewash history and push a hateful, far-right agenda. It’s a direct assault on truth, education and our fundamental rights.
But we’re fighting back — exposing these tactics, challenging discriminatory laws and empowering the next generation.
Add your name now to urge the Smithsonian’s Board of Regents to reject censorship and defend the unvarnished truth.

Join us in calling on Congress to reject further ICE funding and to restore congressional oversight of ICE and other agencies.
As families across the country are struggling to pay bills, Trump and Republicans in Congress are slashing Medicaid and other important services to pay for separating families, for expanding privatized megaprisons, and for human rights abuses against immigrants. For instance, in July, Republicans in Congress passed the so-called “Big Beautiful” bill that cut healthcare, nutrition, and education programs; while tripling the budget for sweeping militarization, giving ICE a blank check to terrorize communities.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Now, Congress can take action through the FY 26 annual funding process to rein in funding for ICE - and prevent the agency from terrorizing families while allocating much needed resources towards healthcare, education, and nutrition programs that truly keep children safe, families healthy, and communities and our economy strong. We’ll say it again: Our nation needs a safe and orderly immigration process that balances compassion and security, NOT cuts to healthcare and NOT cruelty.

Don't Let Trump Slash Mental Health Care
Trump is launching a ruthless attack on mental health care—and Congress must stop him.
His administration is trying to gut a federal parity law that requires insurance to cover mental health like any other health care. If Trump gets his way, insurers could once again deny therapy, addiction treatment, and psychiatric care—pushing millions into crisis.
At the same time, Republicans in Congress are slashing Medicaid, the backbone of mental health services for low-income and rural communities. A Stateline report warns these cuts will leave entire counties without a single provider. The damage will be irreversible.
This is a full-scale rollback of mental health care in America. Nearly one in five adults struggles with a mental illness each year. Stripping away coverage is cruel—and it’s deadly.
Tell Congress: “Don’t let Donald Trump slash mental health care. Pass legislation to defend mental health parity and save lives now.”
Trump’s proposed changes would let insurers dodge key protections from the 2008 Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. That’s sabotage. And it’s happening while cities like D.C. are already overwhelmed by a worsening mental health crisis.
Congress can and must act now. Lawmakers must block Trump’s rollback, defend parity rules, and reject Medicaid cuts that would devastate care nationwide.
Tell Congress: Don’t let Trump dismantle mental health care. Lives are on the line.
