No Kings Day is coming! Let’s turn out and let’s be safe!

I know many of us are stoked to show up, raise our voices, and fight the good fight against authoritarianism and this tin-pot wannabe dictator and his clown car cabal. However, with additional issues in some states (like this one), there may be increased military presence, more law enforcement on the ground (uniformed and plain clothed) and perhaps, individuals and groups who might try to disrupt peaceful assemblies.
There is a wealth of resources online. Here are links to three that I’ve found incredibly comprehensive and a link to a webinar from Women’s March tomorrow that I recommend dialing into.
This Linktree is jam-packed with detail. By all means, avail yourself of all the resources on it.

This should take you to the ACLU People Power webinar from Tuesday, June 10. It was hugely informative and will take you less than an hour. That said, save this link and share it accordingly.

Indivisible has an extremely comprehensive toolkit for Safety, Security, and Digital Preparedness for a Second Trump Administration here: https://indivisible.org/resource/safety-security-and-digital-preparedness-second-trump-administration.
Lastly, this is the link to Womens March protest safety webinar:

For the record, I would take my own risk assessment. Do you need your phone? If you're going with a group, it might be easier to simply designate one person as the documentarian. If you do take your phone: turn off your biometrics and put the phone in airplane mode.
Also, there's a lot of discussion about just sitting down if someone tries to cause a disturbance or incite violence. I would go along with Maribel Hernandez at the ACLU and look for marshals/security. They've been trained to address this issue and de-escalate. She also mentions that a lot depends on context; if you're getting shot at with "non-lethal" bullets or tear-gassed, sitting down is not advised.
Do due diligence, prep as fully as you can, and let's all try to stay safe.
